Recently, Hangzhou Silan Microelectronics Co., Ltd. introduced a 6~60V input, 1A high power LED driver chip SD42528. The chip is a step-down, constant current LED driver circuit. It uses high-performance BCD process technology developed by Silan Microelectronics for green energy-saving products. Single-chip integrated LDMOS power switch tube, built-in PWM dimming module and multiple protection functions. With high conversion efficiency, it is suitable for LED street lighting, LED fluorescent lamps, LED landscape lighting and other LED lighting fields.

Thanks to the advanced system architecture, the conversion efficiency of the SD42528 can be as high as 96% or more. The single-chip integrated LDMOS transistor has an on-resistance of less than 0.6 Ω, which reduces the conduction loss of the chip during the on-time of the power transistor. At the same time, the chip has a sampling voltage of 100mV, which improves the energy conversion efficiency of the circuit. Due to the high efficiency of the chip and the package form of SOP-8, the die has low heat generation and excellent heat dissipation performance.

The chip adopts current mode control, and the loop structure is simple and stable, with fast transient response and good constant current characteristics. When the input voltage changes between 6 and 60V or the LED load changes from 1 to 12, the chip output current rate can be controlled within ±2%, which is convenient for users to set in different voltage applications or LED load applications. Output current. Due to the high-precision trimming technology inside the chip, the output current of the chip is consistent, and the difference in output current of different batches of chips can be controlled within ±3%.

Due to the use of PWM dimming and internal voltage stabilization technology, the chip has high dimming accuracy and can meet the dimming requirements from 0 to 100% in the range of 100 Hz to 2 kHz. The integrated LDO inside the chip generates VDD voltage, which can be used as the power supply for the MCU for dimming, making the customer more convenient in the system development process. The chip also has a built-in frequency-hopping function. The internal oscillation frequency of the chip ensures jitter in a small range, dispersing concentrated spectral energy, and reducing external radiation at a single frequency, thereby improving the EMI characteristics of the system and simplifying EMI design. In addition, the chip integrates multiple protection circuits such as temperature protection circuit, thermal compensation circuit and current limiting circuit to ensure the normal working environment of the LED lamp and prolong its service life.

The SD42528 can be used in typical applications such as DC input and AC input. In typical DC input applications, the wide input voltage range is 6V~60V wide and can output up to 1A. When the input voltage is 48V, 12 LEDs can be connected in series.
