Why can low-quality low-cost wire and cable products have a market?

The market spot check report shows that many wire and cable products in the circulation field are produced by cutting corners to reduce costs. Inferior and low-cost cables have repeatedly been banned.

In order to reduce costs, some wire and cable manufacturers have significantly reduced the copper conductors, which account for nearly 80% of the cost of raw materials, greatly reducing the actual cross-sectional area. Some manufacturers have failed the conductor resistance index.

The sampling inspection also found that some products were insulated and the tensile strength of the sheath before aging was unqualified. What is even more incredible is that in order to reduce the cost price, the length of the wire and cable is short of two. Some wires have a measured length of less than 50 meters, and the total length is 100 meters.

The industry generally believes that at present, no matter what product, as long as the price is slightly lower than similar products, there will be users favor. The same is true for the wire and cable market. In order to regulate the market order, in recent years, the relevant government departments have taken various measures to supervise the wire and cable market, such as the implementation of UL certification, 3C certification, etc., but still can not curb the spread of the shoddy cable market.

It is understood that most of the cable project tenders are almost all price disputes. In the face of the dazzling and varied certificates provided by cable companies, the bidding unit sometimes only looks at the price because it cannot distinguish the merits and demerits of the production unit qualifications. To this end, many companies with many years of cable production history and a number of glorious achievements have all lost in the price competition.

For example, in the bidding for the power cable project of the Beijing TV infrastructure project last year, the same kind of YJV10 kV cable products have the same indicators of outer diameter, insulation thickness and length, and the price of different cable companies can actually differ by 50%.

This reality, which users think is “impossible”, often makes the CEOs who are very familiar with the cable manufacturing process and carefully follow the process construction. They are familiar with the fact that as long as they are produced according to the normal process, companies that are 50% lower than the price of regular cable companies can not buy copper and insulation materials. Such quotations are definitely problematic.

The monopolistic power grid operators, in the face of complaints from cable companies with higher quotations, responded with utmost conviction: "In order to ensure the quality of the project and the construction period, we put forward various conditions in the bidding process. For example, cable production requiring bidding In the past three years, there can be no major quality accidents, no complaints can be found, and the quality should be guaranteed. As a bidding unit, in order to reduce the procurement cost, under the condition of guaranteed quality, the lower the price, the better. Why is the price gap of the same kind of cable products so large, is there a phenomenon of low-priced dumping, and we are not in a position to express our opinions."

Under the guidance of this point of view, in recent years, most of the enterprises in the cable project bidding have succeeded in bidding at low prices.
