“TCL Multimedia is making every effort to build HDR TV. From the report of the TCL product manager at the conference, we can see that TCL’s highest-end X1 to C2 and C1 have not only HDR decoding capability, but also display after decoding. Ability. The so-called display capability is that HDR allows users to see the most realistic imagery world. For example, if you look across the road in the middle of the night, the lights on your face will shine in your eyes. You will feel that the lights are very dazzling. The real world is like this." Mr. Chen Guanglang said.

He believes that TV products need such a display effect. Normal viewing of normal screens will not be unnatural, but when you need this kind of high dynamic content, the TV can really emit 1000 nits of light to stimulate the eyes. Makes you think that the car opposite is really coming, and your eyes will have a temporary burning sensation. This is the display itself should have such display capabilities.

Mr. Chen Guanglang said that the most basic of the TCL X1, C2, and C1 TVs is the HDR decoding capability and HDR display capability. This is the high-end product in the QUHD TV series. For the lower-end products in the series, HDR decoding capability is also available, but because of the price, it only has a normal display level.

After decades of evolution of televisions, from SD to HD and HDR from HD to HDR, these are long evolutionary processes, and the long reason is that it is difficult to broadcast signals at the source. Early signal broadcasts are all over the air, either on the ground or via satellite. Through the air, and its bandwidth is very narrow, there is no way to present too high-definition content. However, in today's Internet age, we can use the Internet to increase the bandwidth of the Internet year after year. In the United States, a lot of HDR content has been transmitted through NETFLEX, etc. Mr. Chen Guanglang said.

He also believes that HDR is the future development trend. At present, domestic companies like Youku and Tencent have begun to transmit HDR content over the Internet. If your TV does not have HDR decoding capability, then you will not see HDR content. Therefore, TCL's TV products have HDR decoding capabilities and display capabilities, and other competitors are basically still in the state of Kaiyuan, and TCL's products are very solid and ecological.

Quantum dot technology should be vigorously developed

Quantum dots technology will be the direction of future television development both in terms of display and production, or environmental protection. Chen Guanglang said that as early as 1983 Bell Labs proposed the concept of a quantum dot, but the first quantum dot device was made in 2008. That is electroluminescence, which is based on electrical energy to make it emit light, but this There is no way to achieve things today.

It is precisely for this reason that Chen Guanglang believes that the state must make this a strategic plan because it is a very complicated plan, and it cannot be achieved by a single enterprise. As a company, TCL must shoulder such a major responsibility and must establish a platform for the world's best companies to work together.

Chen Guanglang said that in 2008 it was electroluminescence, which was the goal of all display engineers. However, if it has not been possible to achieve commercialization, it is not far off. U.S. companies are looking for first-rate companies to commercialize, so they found Sony in 2013, but Sony did not seriously promote it.

Before looking for Sony, we approached QD Vision and soon we had products in 2014. This is an intermediate product of Quantum TV, not the ultimate product. But even intermediate products can give consumers an ultimate experience. This is why TCL, Sony, and Samsung all regard quantum dots as a strategy. We also know that now Hisense has started to follow suit.

Chen Guanglang also added that Samsung proposed to do quantum dot TV in 2015 and also promoted quantum dot TV in 2016, like the SUHD KS9800 series TV launched this year. The quantum dot TVs that Samsung talked about and the quantum dot TVs that TCL talked about are all self-illuminating, and they are both intermediate products of quantum dots.

Extreme audiovisual experience and content bundling are major trends

Currently there are three major color TV giants in China, TCL main push Quantum TV, Skyworth push OLED TV, Hisense push ULED TV, for this distribution, Chen Guanglang believes that Hisense's ULED is actually a packaging ranking, is a partially lit backlight Technology, this technology does have its difficulties, it is also a breakthrough. However, the TCL X1, or the low-end P-series TVs, all use direct-lit backlights. Similar to the product packaging of ULED, its essence is the straight backlight of the partition, which may not be revolutionary for the entire display industry and the entire TV industry ecosystem.

Chen Guanglang stated that Skyworth does OLED. To be honest, for OLEDs, OLEDs and LCDs do not have much difference in the design of movements with the power supply structure. However, the display technology of OLEDs and LCDs is indeed very large. The difference. It is LG that really contributes to OLED, because the real change is in the display factory, not in the whole factory. So at present, these three camps will not bring obstacles or other obstacles to the integration of domestic companies.

He believes that as a TV person, in fact, a larger stage should be transferred to the Internet and content application services.
