Atmel launches fast CMOS camera for industrial machine vision applications

Atmel has recently launched a new ATMOS series Area-scan CMOS camera, mainly for industrial machine vision applications. The launched ATMOS 2M30 and ATMOS 2M60 are fast CMOS area scanning cameras, which can work in 8, 10, and 12-bit modes and have a good dynamic range.

ATMOS 2M30 and ATMOS 2M60 use 2.5 million pixel CMOS sensors, which still have high sensitivity and high quality characteristics at maximum speed. The ROI area allows users to achieve unlimited resolution and increase the frame rate, such as 2M60 (2M30 is half speed) with a frame rate of 48fps at 2.5M pixels, 60fps at 2M pixels and 160fps in VGA mode. In addition, ATMOS 2M30 and ATMOS 2M60 cameras also have an electronic shutter and camera connection interface, which can be used to upgrade from analog to digital mode.

Both ATMOS cameras use a 44 square centimeter cross-sectional design with a C-shaped mounting adapter, which is said to be the smallest cross-sectional size currently on the market. Its performance, versatility and structural adaptability provide OEMs and integrators with optimized solutions that save system space. At the same time, the product can realize remote upload and provide multiple configurations.

ATMOS 2M30 and ATMOS 2M60 are now in trial production, and mass production can be achieved in April 2006. The unit price of more than 100 pieces in batches is US $ 2,500 and US $ 3,000 (for reference only).
