More than one million LED bulbs set up Christmas lights to refresh the Guinness Book

Just after Thanksgiving, the Christmas bell has already sounded. At the Petrie Mall in Canberra, Australia, 1,194,380 LED lights will be built into the Christmas Wonderland. If these bulbs are spread out, it will be a gorgeous 120-kilometer sea lantern. This Christmas light is once again included in the Guinness Book of World Records.

According to the Australian News Network, on the evening of November 27th, at the Petrie Plaza in Canberra's commercial center, Christmas light designer David Richards lit up 1,194,380 LED Christmas lights.

It is reported that the David Richards, a professional lawyer, illuminated 330,000 1038 Christmas lights in 2011, setting a world record for the first time. In 2012, this record was replaced by a family of people from New York, USA, with 340,628,321 Christmas lights. In 2013, Richards and his family installed 500,2,200 Christmas lights in their houses and courtyards, and the length of the wires used to connect them was more than 31 miles (49.9 kilometers). These efforts made him a second Guinness World Record.

This year, Richards's 1.19 million 4380 LED lights, Christmas Wonderland, will set a record for last year and be written to the Guinness World Record for the third time.

More than 200,000 people are expected to flock to this light tunnel consisting of music and lighting, and the funds raised will be used for charitable donations. Richards said: "This is not just a group of flashing lights, it's a light show."

Richards moved the Christmas lanterns event to the mall, mainly considering the feelings of the neighbors. His previous ideas attracted 755,000 visitors to his home and raised more than $78,000 (480,000 RMB) for the SIDS and Kids charity, but some of the neighbors were too bright, or the music was too noisy.

Richards said that SIDS and Kids, the charity of the Capital Region, will raise funds to help families with sudden infant death syndrome. In 2002, Richards lost a child and the charity gave his family great care.

Last time, the Guinness World Record officially confirmed on December 25, 2013 that Richards set a world record for the most installed Christmas lights in residential buildings. The $500,165 Christmas lights cost $2,184 ($13,400) a month. The electricity bill is assisted by a local power company.

This year, Richards hopes to use this large Christmas light decoration to attract tourists and raise money for charity.
